PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The trial of Michael Rosfeld, a white police officer charged with killing an unarmed black teen last year, is underway at the Allegheny County Courthouse.
In addition to street closures around the County Courthouse while the trial is in session, Port Authority is detouring over 20 routes.
Buses will detour from portions of Grant and Ross, and Fifth and Forbes starting around 8:30 a.m. through 7 p.m. Riders should expect delays.
The jury, brought here from the Harrisburg area due to pre-trail publicity, will be sequestered. Attorney Bob DelGreco tells KDKA Radio what that is like.
"They will eat in their rooms, they will be told that they should not discuss the case, even among themselves and that absolutely, positively there should be no evidence or information gathered from any source except the courtroom," said DelGreco.
"I know that efforts have been made to start on time, to put in a full day but I suspect that there is going to be a parade of objections," said DelGreco.
