PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A man was stopped by TSA security at Pittsburgh International Airport Tuesday with a loaded handgun.
The TSA says the Cambria County man was stopped by officers at a security checkpoint with a .380 caliber handgun that was loaded with six bullets.
Allegheny County Police responded, confiscated the firearm and detained the man for questioning.
The Johnstown man’s gun is the 27th stopped by the Transportation Security Administration at Pittsburgh International this year.
Last year, 34 total firearms were stopped.
The TSA reminds passengers to check their list of prohibited items before going through security. Security delays mean longer lines inconveniencing all passengers.
