PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020) - The man leading UPMC Children's Hospital wants to dispel some misconceptions that have developed during the pandemic.
President Mark Sevco says some react with fear when they see someone wearing a mask but, "We're really trying to relay to the kids that when you see someone with a mask on, that's actually safe."
Sevco also told KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin it's safe to come to Children's Hospital.
"We have a very sophisticated screening process we want parents to know it's very safe, we have . . . restricted access, we're doing thermometer screenings, we provide masks," said Sevco.
There hasn't been a COVID-19 patients there in three weeks and that parents do not need to delay treatment.
