PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey believes it is time to start re-opening the Pennsylvania economy, cautiously.

"The fact is, there are many, many cases where people could go back to work safely, and it's time we do that," Toomey said, during an interview with the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Monday. "The rollout would vary in different parts of the state."

The economy shut down due to the concern of overwhelming hospitals. "It is now perfectly clear, that is not going to happen in Pennsylvania," Sen. Toomey adds.

Not only are wallets being affected, it is also causing emotional distress across the state.

"Now that we know we're not going to overwhelm our hospital systems, there is no justification for keeping this in a lockdown," Toomey explains.
