PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County voters are getting the chance to test out some new voting machines that will be used in the 2020 Presidential Election.

Election officials have invited four vendors to conduct demonstrations.

The machines range from simple paper ballots to high-tech completely computerized casting and tabulation.

Rob Bandees is President of Vote Allegheny.

“I believe a hand marked ballot is the best option even though some voters will not follow instructions well and make mistakes, the vast majority of voters will do fine and the ballot will have direct evidence of their intent,” said Bandees.

Bethany Hallam Democratic nominee for Allegheny County Council at Large says she has two priorities.

The machines are set up at CCAC's North campus on Perry Highway Tuesday until 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday they'll be at CCAC South on Clairton Road in West Mifflin.
