PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - People traveling out of Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving are going to have trouble the further west they go.
AccuWeather’s Bret Edwards says that a lot of heavy snow making its way across the Denver area will continue thought Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan.
“But the big problem with this is not only going to be the snow, it’s going to be the wind that’s going to be accompanied with this storm system today through tomorrow,” said Edwards.
Wind in Pittsburgh could also be an issue but won’t be as bad as places out west.
“We’re going to see the winds start to pick up here (Tuesday night) and through (Wednesday),” said Edwards.
Edwards adds that winds on Wednesday could be between 15 and 20 mph and wind gusts between 35 and 40 mph.
Pittsburgh will see light rain on Wednesday as people travel for Thanksgiving with mainly only wet roads to the east.
Those heading north could experience some snow, so motorists are urged to check the radar before they head out Wednesday.
Temperatures will climb to around 60 Wednesday with temps Thursday struggling to get out of the 30s.
