PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Seven Springs has snow but not many other people do!

The National Weather Service released some surprising statistics Thursday.

Only four days in January had an officially snow depth of an inch or more.

That's the least since 2008.

A total of only 9 days have had an inch or more since October 1st, also the least since 2008 and the 7th fewest on record.

But don't celebrate yet, AccuWeather's Dean DeVore tells KDKA Radio we are not out of the woods yet.

"After this milder push the next week or so, it does seem like there's a couple weeks in mid-February where colder air pushes and we get into some storms."

After the stormy February, DeVore adds it could start to ease off again in late February into early March.
