PITTSBURGH) Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Vera Clemente, wife of legendary Pittsburgh Pirate Roberto Clemente, passed away this weekend at the age of 78.
"I don't think I could have imagined a better partner if you will, a foundation for their family, than Vera - keeping track of things, maybe a basis for that for that whole family; she was always quite gracious," said former teammate of Clemente, Steve Blass, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Tuesday.
"A lot of class - quiet class, dignity and grace with that lady," Blass adds.
