PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) –An East Carson Street buiding will be demolished Tuesday after damaged by a 4-alarm fire on Monday.
Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a call to the 1100 block of E. Carson St after reports of a large amount of smoke coming from the roof of a commercial structure around 3 p.m.
The fire quickly escalated from a 2-alarm response to a 4-alarm. There was an anticipated of a partial collapse of the building after thousands of gallons of water was used to contain the fire.
Due to the damage, the building is slated for demolition on Tuesday morning.
No one was injured and the Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
