Clothing brand Forever 21, a staple at many malls across the United States is closing as many as 200 stores while a possible second bankruptcy filing looms.
All four stores in Western Pennsylvania are affected by the recent string of closures.
Forever 21 at South Hills Village, the Mall at Robinson, Monroeville Mall and Grove City Premium Outlets are all reportedly closing.
That’s according to a recent Pennsylvania Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN).
The closings are expected to begin in late-April and conclude in the first part of May.
Forever 21 was brought out of bankruptcy five years ago when three groups, including Simon Mall Property Group, bought the company.
Founded in 1984, Forever 21 also plans to close its Los Angeles headquarters, leaving hundreds out of a job.
Forever 21 reportedly plans to focus more on online retail moving forward.
