PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police arrived at a scene Friday evening on the 700 block of Anaheim Street.
The Zone 2 officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area, and when they arrived at their destination around 5:45 p.m., they discovered shell casings but no victims in the vicinity.
However, at around 6:15 p.m., police were informed that an 11-year-old male had been struck by a bullet in the abdomen.
He was transported to the hospital by his family members.
The male victim arrived there in stable condition.
Officers believe that the boy had been struck by a stray bullet and had no knowledge of the individuals responsible for the shooting.
An investigation is underway for the incident.
