Allegheny Health Network is hosting a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday at the West Mifflin campus of CCAC.
The healthcare provider expects to vaccinate 2,000 people who fall into Pennsylvania's Phase 1A of the vaccine rollout plan.
This clinic will provide first doses of the Pfizer vaccine and according to AHN, the majority of recipients will be those who are high up on he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Social Vulnerability index.
"Minority populations have been disproportionately impacted by this pandemic over the last year, and continue to experience access barriers to the vaccine in many parts of the country," said Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew, MD, AHN chief clinical diversity and inclusion officer. "AHN and Highmark Health are committed to an equitable vaccine distribution that is reflective of our region's demographics, and are extremely grateful to CCAC for offering its campus as a vaccination site, enabling us to reach more of our friends and neighbors in the Greater Pittsburgh area, and particularly those communities of color who have been hit the hardest."
Appointments are required for the clinic and can be scheduled on the AHN website.
