Allegheny County added 664 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday as well as 10 new deaths.

That brings the total new cases for this week to 2,964 along with 90 new deaths reported for the week.


Health officials say they're starting to see a post-holiday surge in coronavirus cases and expect the rate of coronavirus infections to increase over the next couple weeks.

Health Director Dr. Debra Bogen said she still expects COVID-19 cases to surge and January could be the worst month yet.

If the new cases Thursday, 448 are confirmed.
