PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) A heavy police presence was seen on the North Shore Friday afternoon and SWAT was notified for reports of an active shooter.

Officers, Pittsburgh Fire, and EMS were on the scene at the 100 block of South Commons Street.

As standard procedure for possible active shooter, SWAT was called to the scene.

SWAT declared the area safe a little after 2:00 p.m. with no actual threat.

Manchester Academy Charter School is in the area and was placed on lockdown out of precaution during the police presence.

The cause of the incident was determined to possibly be a misunderstanding between two phone callers.
