Getting help for victims of violent crimes. A group of local advocates are taking that message to the state capitol this morning.

Alexandra Abboud is a survivor of sexual assault. She now works for the Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, which will join over scores of other Pennsylvanians Tuesday at the State Capitol to influence politicians to push through aid for those victimized by domestic and gun violence, sexual assault and other crimes.
“The Safer Pennsylvania Act addresses a lot of services that are not currently provided to survivors. It ensures that survivors can access what they need and our set up for success.”
The group began their march at 10:30 a.m. There will be a vigil held, and healing practices for those in attendance will be available afterwards.
