The Allegheny County Sheriff's office patrolled the South Side over the weekend to help city police cut down on violence and illegal activity in the area.
"There has to be some law and order on the South Side, during the weekend, during these events . . . to keep people safe hopefully, that's the goal" Sheriff Kevin Kraus told The Big K Morning Show.
His crew was there Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
During that time, Pittsburgh Public Safety says they made two felony arrests, as well as issued 21 traffic citations and 36 citations for offenses like disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
"It actually wasn't that bad as far as arrests or citations . . . there were a lot of people down there, there were incidents but we didn't see a lot of violence," said Kraus.
Carson City Saloon, a popular bar on the South Side recently closed citing recent issues in the neighborhood.
