Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey are announcing a new initiative to help those in Ukraine.
Partnering with the Brother's Brother Foundation, a hygiene kit drive will start running from April 18 through Friday, April 29. They will start collecting hygiene kits and items that will be shipped, assembled and distributed to refugees.
"One thing about western Pennsylvanians and Pittsburghers, we come together and help folks in need," said Fitzgerald.
Here is what each hygiene kit should include:
· Deodorant (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Shampoo (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Conditioner (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Body wash (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Lotion (no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Hand Sanitizer (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Toothpaste (travel size, no larger than 3.4 ounces)
· Toothbrush
· Chapstick (1.5 inches in length/ 0.5 inch in diameter)
· Flushable wipes (travel size)
· Tissues (travel size)
· Tampons
· Sanitary pads
Some of the items not being accepted include aerosols or powders.
People also should not include money or notes in the kits.

By coming together as one community, we are able to provide these kits to all who need them, and Pittsburgh will continue to stand with you during this time of crisis," said Pittsburgh Mayor Gainey.
