Allegheny County is apparently doing slightly better than the nation as a whole when it comes to getting shots into arms.
Over the weekend, President Biden announced that about half of the nation have gotten at least one shot of the COVID vaccine.
County Executive Rich Fitzgerald tells Marty Griffin on Newsradio KDKA that the county is doing even better than that.
"I'm proud of the fact that in Allegheny County, we're over 55%. Five percent ahead of the nation. But, we still have a long way to go," he said.
Fitzgerald said today that he still hasn't made a decision on whether to order his more than 7,000 employees to get vaccinated, but he did say he'd like to get that rate over 95%.
