A fugitive that has been on the run for over a month was taken into custody Wednesday, hiding in under bags of old clothes.
The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office say 24-year-old D’Andre Freeman-Johnson has been a fugitive since September 21 when bench warrants were issued for probation violations on two cases.
One of the cases involved a guilty plea on aggravated assault, the other a weapons charge.
Detective from Sheriff Kevin Kraus’ office learned that Freeman-Johnson was inside a resident in Turtle Creek on Highland Avenue Wednesday morning.
After being allowed inside, detectives began to search for the suspect and after going into the basement, found a small room filled with bags of clothes.
Freeman-Johnson was discovered in the back corner of the room underneath several bags of the clothes and was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
