After more than two years in the position, Doctor Ariel Goldschmidt is out as Allegheny County's Medical Examiner.
A spokesman for the county said they wish Dr. Goldschmidt the best in his future endeavors and that Doctor Ashton Ennis has agreed to serve as Interim Medical Examiner.
The county will conduct a national search for a permanent replacement.
No reason for the dismissal has been given.
