Watch out for a new scam going around.
The Allegheny County Sheriff's Department says they received a number of calls Wednesday morning from people who say they've received a call from Lieutenant James Perry in their office, telling them they failed to appear in Federal Court last week.
Adding, they need to get in touch with them to reschedule.
The Sheriff's office says there is no Lieutenant James Perry in their office and they would never be used to contact someone regarding a missed federal court appearance.
The call goes on to give people a number, email address and even a website to reschedule.
So, if you get it, just hang up.
