The Andy Warhol museum is looking to expand its footprint on the North Shore. NewsRadio KDKA's Andrew Limberg has details:

Museum officials are hoping the Planning Commission approves a plan to turn a current parking lot into a $45 million entertainment venue.

It's part of the proposed Pop District Entertainment Venue on the eastern north shore.

Dan Law, Associate Director of the Warhol says it will provide positive economic impact for the city.

“It’s a big opportunity for the region to bring in another 90 to 100 shows and bring that element to the cultural life of the city,” said Law. “The second piece is live events, not concerts but think about parties, weddings, corporate events, conferences.”

Law says the new complex will incorporate aspects of Andy Warhol’s artwork.

The venue would hold up to 1,000 people for concerts.

The complex would also hold office space and a mezzanine on second and third floor. A fourth floor would feature another event space that can hold over 350 people.
