The number of Americans filing for weekly jobless benefits fell to the lowest level since the pandemic began last week.

But the same Labor Department also released data showing more than four-million-people quit their jobs in August.

Some are calling it The Great Resignation!

State numbers show there are 77 thousand unemployed workers in the Pittsburgh region. Why is that the case with no shortage of open jobs, wages going up and benefits increasing?

Up to this point, unemployment payments, food stamps and housing subsidies were worth more than what some employers could match.

But the benefits are expiring and it’s time for the unemployed to return to work and start earning a paycheck again.
