A South Side business owner is taking his complaints about neighborhood crime to the national news media.
Rich Cupka, owner of Cupka's Cafe, appeared on Fox & Friends Friday morning, telling the world that Pittsburgh is in a downward spiral.
"I told them about the number of shootings we've had on the South Side, the number of people taken to the hospital in critical condition from South Side," Cupka told The Big K Morning Show of his appearance. "Downtown Pittsburgh, 80 percent vacancies, South Side 20 percent vacancies. People afraid to walk on the streets at night, it's a shame."
And to those critics who say he's shining a bad light on Pittsburgh, Cupka says,
"I don't talk and people don't stand up, it's going to be a ghost down here and in Downtown Pittsburgh."
Cupka says he'll continue to speak up until he sees real change being made.
