We’d like to tell you a story about some Grinch-like criminals and the triumph of the human spirit.
Last weekend, thieves stole 20 bicycles from the Allegheny Valley Marine Corps Toys for Tots charity.
Harrison police are investigating the theft sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
What happened next?
Tuesday morning, donors brought at least a dozen bikes to Toys for Tots.
Later the same day Dick’s Sporting Goods offered to donate 25 more.
The outpouring of generosity and support certainly reassures the volunteers who must have been heartbroken. They give gifts to about 2,000 children each year.
To them we say thank you and up the great work.
To those who replaced the stolen bikes and then some, you know the joy of giving.
