Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher reflects on career of Roethlisberger

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was drafted in the 2004 NFL Draft with the 11th overall pick. Bill Cowher was the head coach of the team at that time.

The future hall-of-famer took the field for the first time a few months later, after an injury to quarterback Tommy Maddox. The rest is history.

However, Roethlisberger is expected to play his final home game at Heinz Field Monday night.

"He's a guy that's been in Pittsburgh, a lot like you saw with Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward," Cowher said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Monday. "When he leaves, he's going to leave a Pittsburgh Steeler. I was that way as well. There's something special about being there."
