A restaurant in Southwestern PA has been ruled ‘out of compliance’ by the Department of Agriculture’s food safety services after an inspection on Thursday.
The Bob Evans on West Main Street in Uniontown was hit with several violations, mainly for sanitation reasons.
Inspectors found a “black slimy residue” inside an ice machine. That machine was shut down and any remaining ice was thrown away. The unit cannot be used until it is cleaned.
Also, a dishrack was found on the floor of the dish area, a shelf above the grill has a build up of “food, dust and debris” and a hot holding storage bin in the cook line “has a heavy build up of old encrusted food residue.”
A portable fan was found in a prep area with build up of dust and heavy food debris was found underneath a cook line.
Inspectors say Bob Evans have until April 24 to correct the violations with a follow-up inspection planned.
The restaurant is allowed to continue to operate while “out of compliance”
