West Deer police have charged a home improvement contractor from Butler County after a family accused him of collecting more than $30,000 in up-front payments for work that was never completed.
27 year old Austin Reges of Penn Township police say was hired to build a new front porch on a family's home.
But during the four months Reges was paid, the family says barely any work was done.
A criminal complaint says Reges only ccomplted a portion of the work on the porch and installed a front door different than the one that was agreed upon.
The trib reports Reges installed ceramic floor tile that was so uneven the home's entryway door couldn't open or close.
He's charged with felony counts of theft by deception, deceptive business practices and home improvement fraud.
He was charged by summons and ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing on April 26.
