The Carnegie Science Center announced a lengthy closure to begin the week of January 10.
Due to staffing shortages, the Carnegie Science Center will shut down on Monday, January 10 through Friday, January 14. Officials say the closure will allow them to allocate more staff and reopen with a level of service Pittsburgh can expect.
In November of 2020, the Carnegie Science Center unveiled major renovations to the Buhl Planetarium. It was part of a multi-million dollar project to upgrade the technology in the building.
Its hours of operation when it fully reopens on January 16 will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
