
Fresh after his win over incumbent Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey in the Democratic primary, Corey O'Connor is making stops to thank voters for his win in the party's mayoral race.

Standing at the busy intersection of Forward and Murray in Squirrel Hill and drenched by soaking rain that smeared the red markers of his Thank You Pittsburgh sin onto his gray shorts, O'Connor made the first in a series of Day After The Primary Thank You appearances.
It's something his late father, Mayor Bob O’Connor, did with his election wins that started with his first city council win in 1991.
With his ever-present wife and their two kids joining him in the rain, O'Connor was asked what he'd say to them if they want to follow in the family tradition.
“think about it for a little bit, it’ s harder than you think,” O’Connor told KDKA Radio. “We wouldn’t be here without my wife and my kids were troopers the whole way through.”
