Allegheny County is getting into the holiday spirit

The ice skating rinks at North and South Parks are opening on Sunday. T

There will be two sessions, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 3 to 6 p.m. The season will run through mid-March depending on weather and conditions.

Sessions will take place on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with specific holiday times on the website.

Allegheny County residents can skate for $5, non-residents are $6, Stake rentals are $2 for residents, 3 for non.

Concessions will also be available.

Also, for the third straight year, the county’s holiday drive-in laser show is back at North Park.

The 45-minute show begins on December 9 with lights and music.

The shows run daily through December 22 at the North Park Pool Parking Lot.

“There are so many holiday traditions in our community that families embrace each year, and we’re thrilled to see so many residents embrace the drive-in laser show,” said Rich Fitzgerald. “We’ve already heard from families who already have a visit to the laser show on their calendar for the 2022 Holiday Season.”
