UPDATE 2:05 p.m. - According to Trooper Forrest Allison with Pennsylvania State Police, one outbound lane is expected to open shortly as investigators are working to process the scene.
The Squirrel Hill Tunnels were shut down earlier due to a police incident. The incident is no longer active and there is no threat to the public.
UPDATE 1:54 p.m. - The inbound side of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel has reopened.
The Squirrel Hill Tunnel is shut down in both directions after two accidents took place on the Parkway East.
According to the official PennDOT Twitter account, one multi-vehicle crash eastbound between exits 74 and 77 closed down all lanes. Another crash westbound between exits 77 and 74 shut down all lanes on that side too.
