A donkey that was rescued from an icy pond in Cranberry Township Friday night is said to be doing well.
A resident called for help to get his family's donkey out of a pond off of Franklin Road.
The donkey was about 50 feet from shore when rescue crews were finally able to harness the 650-pound animal before using a rope system to pull it out.
According to the Butler Eagle, one firefighter on the scene noted the residents treated the donkey like a family member.
