Frigid temperatures with real feels well below zero, many people will be hunkering down in their home.

Taking a few simple steps can help you stay under your blanket instead of having to call a repair person.
Evey True Value's Andy Amrhein has a few tips.
Make sure are leaving your facets, especially ones with pipes near the outside wall, running more than just a drip.
If you are treating walkways or driveways, use magnesium and calcium, rock salt won't work when it's this cold.
Also check your furnace.
“Hopefully you have a brand new filter in the furnace to allow the proper amount of air to really blow through that furnace filter,” said Amrhein. “If it’s old, dirty and clogged you’re never going to get the heat through or you’re going to make your furnace operate at a lot higher strength.”
Real feel temperatures will be in the single digits or colder through Christmas Day.
