A market in Downtown Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Ritik’s Market on Smithfield Street was ordered closed due to water issues and an "inadequate water supply."

An inspection report shows a handwashing station in the employee bathroom and other areas did not have water and was given 24 hours to fix after an inspection last Wednesday.

A reinspection showed the market still dealing with a lack of water.

A handwashing sink behind a counter also was lacking water, soap, drying towels and a lack of signage reminding staff to wash their hands before handling food.

During the initial inspection, Ritik’s was also ordered to stop selling hard scoop ice cream until a “dipper well” is installed.

The closure was posted on March 21 and any updates will be made on the Health Department's website.
