One of Eat‘n Park’s most famous desserts is off menu, but only temporarily.
The Pittsburgh-based restaurant chain’s grilled stickies, a cinnamon bun-like desert comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
The dessert is off the menu because a bakery that Eat‘n Park partnered with has closed two of it’s plants in Pennsylvania several months ago, according to a spokesperson for Byrnes & Kiefer Artisan Bakery company told KDKA Radio.
“We are grateful to be reminded of how many of our items are a staple for our brand fans and that so many Pittsburghers love Grilled Stickies as much as we do!,” Eat‘n Park said in a statement to KDKA Radio.
The good news, Eat‘n Park and Byrnes & Kiefer made a deal that gives the restaurant chain ownership of some of the recipes.
“We are delighted that these legendary menu items will continue to be available to the patrons of Eat’n Park,” said Aaron Byrnes, CEO of Burnes & Kiefer Company.
The sale gives Eat ‘n Park ownership of “Zero T Cookie Mix, colored icings, Kwik Merinque, Honey Smear and Sticky Loaf.”
The terms of the deal were not made public.
Courtney Caprara says they don’t know when exactly the stickies will be back on the menu, but will give an update when they have more information.
