Netflix has released new episodes of the classic, hit-TV series “Unsolved Mysteries” on Wednesday and one case hits close to home.

Five new episodes debuted on the streaming service Wednesday, July 31 and one of the cases is entitled “The Severed Head”.

The episode is about a teenage boy’s discovery of a human head in a wooded area on December 12, 2014 in Economy Borough, Beaver County.

What was originally thought by police to be a prank, quickly became a gruesome mystery.

Officials say the women’s head was found over 30 feet away from the road.

“It was not decomposed, and it appeared to have been severed with precision and medical expertise after the body had already been embalmed,” Producers of the episode said in a release from Netflix.

Police said it appeared the someone wanted the head to be found and that the woman’s eyeballs had been replaced with rubber balls.

The woman, believed to be somewhere between 60 and 80 when she died, has still not been identified.

With her head being embalmed, all efforts to identify her through DNA have failed.

The series, a continuation of the hit series that began in 1987 with host Robert Stack is now streaming on Netflix.
