PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) A new lawsuit is being filed against the city of Pittsburgh in the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse.
Attorney Richard Schubert represents Joseph Engelmeier, a recent Pitt graduate who was in his car when the bridge collapsed.
Engelmeier suffered three spinal compression fractures in the collapse.
Schubert says the 24-year-old crawled out of his overturned SUV, climbed off the bridge and up the hillside to first responders.
More than just physical pain, Engelmeier has also struggled mentally.
"He's still in treatment for his PTSD," Schubert said. "He has nightmares and he doesn't know when they're going to end.
This will be the fifth lawsuit against the city related to the bridge collapse.
