Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office tells KDKA Radio that places evolve, cities change, architecture changes and people make choices all the time.

“Nobody expects anything to sit around forever,” said Keezer. “It’s unfortunate that this is a key location in this project and trying to make sure they have what they need going forward is going to be a challenged, but we fully expect everyone to work with us, the elected officials and everyone to try to make this seamless and try to help us move this project forward as easy as possible.”

“Mayor of Kingstown” season four debuts in January. With seven seasons planned, the production must be done filming at the former penitentiary by November 2025.

The show has created 3,000 new jobs and pumped more than $90 million into the region’s economy.
