Restaurants and other businesses are offering freebies, deals and discounts to Vets in honor of Veterans Day Saturday.
Some of those deals around Pittsburgh include:
Primanti Bros.
Veterans can get a free classic Primanti Bros. sandwich on Friday and Saturday. It’s their “slawute to service.”
Sheetz
On Saturday, November 11, all vets and active military members can get a free half turkey sub and regular fountain drink for free at any of Sheetz’s over 700 locations.
“The offer includes extra & add-ons to the sub,” Sheetz said in a statement.
A free car wash is also being offered to military members at any Sheetz location that has a car wash.
Military ID or proof of service must be presented to get the deal.
In addition, Sheetz will be donated $50,000 to the USO.
Eat’n Park
Throughout the entire month of November veterans and their families will get 10 percent off their check at area Eat’n Park locations.
Vets will get a free Smiley Cookie of Saturday.
Mission BBQ
Veterans will get a free sandwich on Saturday. “It will be our honor to serve you.
Thanks For Your Service. We look forward to thanking you in person,” Mission BBQ wrote on Facebook.
Hoss’s
Veterans get 20 percent off their meal and beverage on Saturday.
Hard Rock Café Pittsburgh:
Veterans can get a free Legendary Burger with proof of ID along with a 15 percent military discount.
Dunkin’
Retired and active military will get a free donut on Saturday.
Wendy’s
Free breakfast combo on Saturday to anyone with a valid military ID or Veterans Advantage card.
McDonald’s
A free meal is being offered during breakfast, lunch and dinner at McDonald’s locations.
Breakfast is an egg McMuffin or a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, hash brown and drink.
Lunch and dinner is your choice of a double cheese burger or six-piece chicken McNuggets with fries and drink.

Greater Pitt Tree Service
The company on Saw Mill Run Boulevard is offering free tree service to World War II veterans all day Friday. Call 412-436-5640 for more.
Rick’s Barber Shop
Rick Dowden and his crew are offering free hair cuts to veterans all day on Saturday. His location is at 352 Freeport Road in Blawnox
