Gas prices continue to trend down, but will it last?
AAA says local gas prices are around $4.39. That's 11-cents cheaper compared to a week ago. A month ago, prices were 50-cents higher.
Jim Garrity of AAA says a big reason for falling prices is a cut back in demand. Another big factor is falling crude oil prices, which is down over $30 compared to earlier this summer.
"If you want a good indicator on where gasoline prices are going, you keep an eye on demand and crude oil. Crude oil is 50-60-cents of every dollar you spend at the pump."
The national average for gas is around $4.05.
