It's pickup day for two of the families selected in the 5 Pools For 5 Families donation from our friends at Swimming Pool Discounters. My buddy Dale Kleiner is the owner and really wanted to do something to make a difference for families who could put a free pool to good use.
You should see the submissions that came in. They were heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Families dealing with all kinds of personal issues ranging from serious medical problems to single parents struggling to do the best they can for their kids.
Dale and his fabulous wife, Jeanne, had the difficult job of narrowing down the submissions and choosing five families. Today the first two families are picking up their pool kits. That's not just chlorine in the air. You can feel a huge amount of love and appreciation.

First up is Beverly Hosek (above) who was nominated by her husband Dave.
"My incredible wife has endured SEVEN spinal fusions. She is CONSTANTLY in pain, except for when she is in the water. This beautiful woman has endured YEARS of pain all the while raising our four kids while I worked. She gets by by using the pools of family, friends and our community pool. I would love for her to be able to have a pool of her own so that she can float weightlessly whenever she pleases. I’m not good with words, but if anyone is deserving of having their own pool, it’s Bev. She was also recently diagnosed with MS and even that hasn’t dampened her spirits. Thank you for this opportunity."
Next is Heather Hamm (above) who was nominated by her dad, Dave Riesmeyer, who's a longtime Get Marty friend and listener:
"Her husband has a spinal cord injury, live on disability with a 6 and 8 year old, the 8 year old has some autism disabilities, and can use the pool and deserve something good."
Of course, none of this would be possible without the Dale and his huge heart. He just wants to be a good guy and do something to give back and he's certainly done that here yet again with 5 Pools For 5 Families.
