Get Marty: Insurance company leaves family high and dry and angry after flooding incident

Four days after a disaster forced them out of their home and their insurance company wouldn't return their calls.

It's been a hell of a week for Joe and Nicole Kress and their three kids. More like a week from hell. Their nightmare began in the middle of the night last Saturday when someone started banging on the front door to tell them their house was flooding. A water line break across the street sent water streaming down their driveway and into the basement.

They called their homeowners insurance, Liberty Mutual, the very next morning, and then again and again and again. As of Tuesday they still haven't received one returned phone call. They're angry, frustrated, and need help. That's why they reached out to Get Marty.

Watch the video on this page to meet Joe and Nicole as Arianna and Patrick find out what they're dealing with. Before this story is over we'll get them the help they need.

In the video, we mentioned our friend Brian Pfister. He's my go-to guy when it comes to insurance company issues. Brian is the owner and operator at Pfister Adjusting Inc. where he is a private insurance adjuster. He helped us last year with a family that was declined coverage after a flash flooding incident.

Brian already met with Joe and Nicole on Tuesday and started working on their issues.  The very next day we got word that the insurance company is now engaged and has told the Kress family they are definitely covered and they're working to help get the house cleaned up and restored so they can get back in safely with their children.

We'll keep checking in on the Kress family to see how things go from here out.
