The pastor of a small church in McKees Rocks has big plans and that includes a much bigger church at a new location. You may recognize James Hogan's name. When I have issues regarding faith these days, he's the man I turn to for insight and understanding during my radio show.
Hogan's Faithbridge Community Church is looking to extend its outreach to the community and it's positioned in just the right place to do it.

Watch the video on this page to see Pastor Hogan take me on a tour of the new space and show us what's being done and what they need the biggest help with. There was another church in the same spot before but it needs a lot of work. You can see the scaffolding outside the church where they've been scouring away decades of weathering and grime.

Inside, there's just as much work to be done. They've just finished laying new carpet and installing the pews, but you can actually feel the biggest need in there... the air conditioning. There isn't any, and putting it in is extremely expensive.
Altogether, Faithbridge Community Church needs nearly $150,000 to restore the property, make improvements, and open to the public.
Here's the list of upcoming expenses:
$15,000: Carpet removal and replacement
$5,000: Brick cleaning
$5,000: Demolition, cleaning, dumpsters
$10,000: Roofing
$60,000: Air Conditioning equipment and installation
$5,000: Electrical work including entryway lighting, interior lighting
$5,000: Exterior painting
$5,000: Flooring for fellowship hall and 2nd floor stairs
$5,000: Landscaping including excavation and regrading for water issues
$5,000: Concrete work for exterior patio
$10,000: Audio/Video equipment for sanctuary and services
$5,000: Learning Center plumbing, electrical, ceilings, and painting
TOTAL: $140,000
It's quite a list and to start working on it we're reaching out to friends of Get Marty. Pastor Hogan also has setup a GoFundMe that you can contribute to right away:
We've helped Pastor Hogan out before when he needed assistance. Then, it was my friend Julian Gray who stepped up with a check, but this time we need a whole lot more help.
