Thursday marks the start of a "new era" for Giant Eagle.
The grocer is calling it the "Because It Matters" campaign, an investment spree that runs through 2026.
The Cranberry-based grocer promises to spend more than $100 million to renovate stores and show customers it's serious about lowering prices.
As part of the campaign, Giant Eagle will expand pharmacy sections at more than 60 stores, and run flashy promotions, like a one-week sale starting today that lowers 1,000 items to $1.
"2025 has been an incredibly important year in Giant Eagle's history and the milestones we have achieved have presented us with an opportunity to reinvigorate how we show up for our guests," said Bill Artman, President and CEO at Giant Eagle in a statement to PR News Wire. "We are committed to being the hometown grocer across every community we serve, and we believe our Because It Matters strategy and the associated investments we are making will be a catalyst to achieving that goal."
Other improvements include a dozen supermarkets being remodeled, expansion and renovation to over 60 in-store pharmacy departments, new shopping carts, delivery options and mobile app enhancements.
