A group of people from Indiana County dropped everything to help Ukrainians in need.

Lynn Forsythe-McGuire looked at her phone to find an unexpected invitation from a friend.

"I found out that she wanted me to come with them on their team."

She and five others are now in Romania at an orphanage turned shelter for Ukrainian women and children.

Forsythe-McGuire told Marty Griffin, they're caring for people who have been through a long and difficult journey.

She said they're stationed at what was once an orphanage, now a shelter. Most of the people coming there walked hours with none of their belongings to find safety.

"They are frightened, but they are determined to do what they need to do," Forsythe-McGuire said.
