TSA officers prevented a Gibsonia man from carrying his gun onto a flight over the weekend at Pittsburgh International.

A TSA spokesperson called the unidentified man irresponsible for bringing a weapon to the airport during the busiest holiday travel period of the year, delaying thousands of people.

When a gun is detected by X-ray, the conveyor belt is stopped and the police are called and the passengers are forced to wait or they are shifted to another checkpoint lane.

The 38-caliber handgun was loaded with seven bullets, including one in the chamber.

He's facing thousands of dollars in Federal fines for disrupting security screening operations.

Saturday's incident brings the number of weapons stopped at checkpoints to 40 this year, five more than the record set in 2019.
