Day two of testimony in the Tree of Life synagogue shooting trial brought tears from witnesses who survived the massacre, as well as family members of the victims.
They were spouses, siblings, friends.
11 victims who were gunned down back in October 2018.
On Wednesday, one witness testified about the horror of hiding quietly as the gunman walked past them during the rampage.
Another spoke about stepping over her friend as he lay dying. For the Jewish community, the trial is gut-wrenching, having to relive the tragedy.
But Maggie Feinstein, Director of the 10-27 Healing Partnership says for some, it is also cathartic.
“Sometimes the healing can begin once you can get through and all the truths are known and all of it is out there for the public to know as well so no longer do you have to hold it on yourself,” said Feinstein.
Robert Bowers is facing the death penalty.
