Fire causes damage at Jenny Lee Bread's bakery in McKees Rocks

Pittsburgh's Headlines: September 18, 2026

There was a fire at the Jenny Lee Bakery overnight that caused damage to its McKees Rocks bakery.

Owner Scott Baker of Five Generation Bakers posting on social media.

“Thankfully nobody was hurt,” said Baker. “Our nigh turn leadership crew, Mikey and Tim, followed our protocol and our procedure to get everybody out of the building safe. It was an oven fire.”

He says it was in the flue system.

Crews are assessing the damage, and there's no word yet on when production will resume.

Baker says that the Breakfast Nook restaurant on Brodhead Road in Moon is not affected by the fire and most local stores are stocked with Jenny Lee Swirl bread right now (and it’s on sale).

But, he isn’t sure when he is going to be able to get his workers back on the job.

“What is will affect is I don’t know when I’ll be able to put everybody back to work so you can support our employees by just being fans of Jenny Lee Swirl Bread.”

Baker adds they’re working hard to get back to baking as soon as they can.
