A Beaver County jury found Sheldon Jeter guilty of first-degree homicide in the shooting death of Tyric Pugh who was Jeter's close friend.

Wednesday after 3 p.m. the verdict was read that Jeter was guilty and would be sentenced July 21.

The verdict was met with mixed emotions from both families. Jeter's family with tears and Pugh's with a sigh of relief. District attorney David Lozier said Pugh's family may never know why Jeter shot their son but they now have some justice.

Jeter's defense attorney Michael Santicola said originally the jury was not all on the same page with a unanimous decision but Wednesday whoever didn't originally think he was guilty changed the decision to unanimous.

Jeter has also been in the news as a conflict of interest for the murder of Rachel DelTondo on Mothers Day in 2018. Santicola indicated there will be more investigating for that case.
